How to take Repatha®

Repatha® is available in the following dosage forms

Repatha® can be given with the SureClick Autoinjector. The recommended dose of Repatha® with the autoinjector is one injection (140 mg) every two weeks.

Automated Mini-Doser

Repatha® can also be given with the automated mini-doser. The recommended dose of Repatha® with the mini-doser is one injection (420 mg) once monthly.

For the prevention of cardiovascular events and primary hyperlipidemia in adult patients (including heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia [HeFH] and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease) and HeFH in pediatric patients (aged 10 years and older), the usual dose of Repatha® is 140 mg every 2 weeks or 420 mg once monthly.

For homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia in adult patients, the usual dose of Repatha® is 420 mg, either once monthly or every two weeks. If you are on apheresis you may initiate treatment with 420 mg every 2 weeks to correspond with your apheresis schedule.

You and your doctor will have discussed your preferred method for taking Repatha®.

If your doctor decides that you or a caregiver (e.g., parent) can give you your Repatha® injections, you or your caregiver should receive training on the right way to prepare and inject Repatha®.

Do not try to inject Repatha® until you have been shown the right way by a healthcare professional, such as a doctor, nurse or pharmacist.

Always take Repatha® exactly as your doctor has told you. Check with your doctor if you are not sure.


Continue with your cholesterol-lowering diet and current cholesterol-lowering medicine while taking Repatha®

Before starting Repatha®, you should be on a diet to lower your cholesterol. You should stay on this cholesterol-lowering diet while taking Repatha®.

If your doctor has prescribed Repatha® along with a statin or other cholesterol-lowering medicine, follow your doctor’s instructions on how to take these medicines together. In this case, please read the dosage instructions of the other medicines.


How do I store Repatha®?

Store in a refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C in the original carton.

When removed from the refrigerator, Repatha® should be kept at controlled room temperature (up to 25°C) in the original carton and must be used within 30 days.

Protect Repatha® from direct light and do not expose to temperatures above 25°C. Do not freeze. Do not shake.

Keep Repatha® and all medicines out of the reach and sight of children.

Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste. Ask your doctor or pharmacist how to throw away medicines you no longer use.
